Farewell to the Brigadier General and Safe Return

Shareholder Charles "Chip" D. Luckey, an attorney in the firm's Litigation Group and a Brigadier General in the U.S. Army Reserves, left Saturday, April 12, 2008 for a long-term post in Iraq. Chip's last day with the firm, until his return from Iraq, was Monday, April 7th. He is expected to be gone for at least one year.

Chip has worked with the U.S. Army Reserves in both active and non-active duty for over 30 years. He was appointed Brigadier General in June of 2005, and his most recent post was Commanding General of the 78th Operations Group in Fort Dix, New Jersey.

Chip joined the firm after extended active duty tours with the United States Army as both an Infantry officer and a Judge Advocate. As one of the firm's litigators, Chip focuses his practice in the areas of domestic law, criminal defense, and commercial and environmental litigation. Throughout his tenure with the firm, he has remained active with the U.S. Army Reserve.

An informal gathering on Sunday evening, April 6th allowed many in the firm to offer well wishes and to bid Chip farewell. All are hoping for a safe return.
