Elizabeth joined Blanco Tackabery in September 2009, returning to her hometown of Winston-Salem after practicing law at Bryan Cave in Washington, D.C.

Her practice focuses on real estate transactions financed through the use of low-income housing tax credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits, federal and state energy tax credits and HUD-insured loans. She assists clients with all aspects of such transactions, including tax credit applications, entity organization, land acquisition and zoning matters, real estate title and survey review, construction and permanent financing (including tax-exempt bond financing and a wide range of public and private grants and loans), equity syndication, and asset management.

Elizabeth has worked in the affordable housing industry since 2003. While in law school, she worked on landlord-tenant disputes and Section 8 Assistance issues at Legal Aid of North Carolina. She has experience working for a large low-income housing tax credit developer resolving issues involving complex ownership and financing structures. In private practice, she has represented lenders of multifamily housing, including loans to be purchased by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, and has represented large financial institutions investing in various state and federal tax credits.

She is a member of the American Bar Association Forum on Affordable Housing and the North Carolina Housing Coalition. Elizabeth is also licensed to practice in New York and Washington, D.C.
