Carrie joined the firm in 2001, and practices in the areas of affordable housing law, business law, and commercial real estate & development. She has extensive experience counseling for-profit and non-profit developers in all aspects of affordable housing transactions, including low-income housing tax credit projects and multifamily and elderly HUD-insured projects. Her representation of clients in all stages of their affordable housing transactions regularly involves negotiation of purchase agreements, entity formation, and closing of real estate acquisition, bridge and construction financing, equity syndication and permanent financing. Carrie counsels clients in connection with various sources of affordable housing funding, including the HOME Investment Partnership program, the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and USDA Rural Development Program (RD) loans. Her practice also includes business and commercial real estate transactions, including the structuring and financing of business entities, and representation of buyers, sellers, developers and financial institutions in all phases of commercial real estate transactions.
Carrie received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and attended law school at Wake Forest University, where she served as Notes and Comments Editor for the Wake Forest Law Review. Prior to joining the firm, she completed a two-year judicial clerkship for the Honorable K. Edward Greene, North Carolina Court of Appeals Judge.
Carrie is a member of the American Bar Association and the North Carolina Bar Association.
