Renewable Energy Law

Our Renewable Energy Practice Group represents renewable energy developers in power project financing, permitting, licensing, construction and operations.

We handle all aspects of equity syndication and finance, utilizing federal and state energy tax credits as well as traditional financing. We negotiate power purchase agreements, renewable energy certificate purchase agreements, equipment installation agreements and site lease agreements. We have substantial experience with commercial real estate, including the purchase of property needed for locating renewable energy facilities and environmental, zoning and land use matters. We routinely negotiate purchase agreements, leases, options, right-of-way agreements and other real estate documents. We advise and assist renewable energy developers with structuring and financing business entities. We also represent developers in rulemaking, permitting and other agency proceedings before local governments, the state utility commission and the department of revenue, and we draft and advise on legislation for such clients.
