May 10, 2007 – Winston-Salem, NC – The law firm of Blanco Tackabery Combs & Matamoros, P.A. is pleased to announce that Kevin J. Morris, who joined the firm as an associate in August 2006, is now licensed to practice in North Carolina. He passed the February bar exam and was sworn in at the end of April. He is also licensed in Florida, Colorado and New York.

Kevin has experience in a broad spectrum of labor and employment law matters, ranging from defending companies in federal and state court litigation involving employment discrimination claims, to representing clients in matters before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), including handling union elections and unfair labor practice charges. Kevin advises and counsels companies on compliance with federal, state and local labor and employment law matters, including implementation of preventive employee relations programs and supervisor training. His experience includes drafting employment policies and procedures and employee handbooks, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, and resolving disputes short of litigation through administrative procedures and negotiation of favorable settlements.
Kevin has significant experience in traditional labor law, having served as a staff attorney for the NLRB prior to entering private practice. At the NLRB, Kevin prosecuted unfair labor practice charges, served as hearing officer in representation cases, and wrote decisions regarding bargaining unit determination issues. His private practice experience includes representing management exclusively at a Miami labor and employment law firm. Prior to joining Blanco Tackabery, Kevin served as general counsel for a facilities management company where he was responsible for human resources.
