June 24, 2008 — L.F. "Frank" McDonald, Jr. and Kristen S. Nardone have joined the firm as associates.
Frank works in both the Winston-Salem and Lake Norman offices, representing clients in a wide variety of commercial transactions. His practice focuses in the areas of commercial real estate, general corporate law, new business planning and formation, mergers and acquisitions as well as in commercial lending. Prior to joining the firm, Frank worked for several years in private practice and as in-house counsel in Portland, Oregon. He received his B.A. in English Literature from the University of Virginia, and his J.D. from the University of Oregon. He is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington, and his North Carolina application is pending.
Kristen works in the Winston-Salem office, and represents clients in a wide variety of litigation matters. Prior to joining the firm, Kristen gained considerable experience in private practice and during two federal clerkships – first for the Honorable J. Craig Whitley, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Western District of North Carolina, and then for the Honorable Thomas W. Waldrep, Jr., U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law.
