June 19, 2007 – Winston-Salem, NC – The law firm of Blanco Tackabery Combs & Matamoros, P.A., is pleased to announce that shareholder Gene B. Tarr, Head of the Firm's Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Collections Group, has been elected to serve as Chair of the Bankruptcy Section of the North Carolina Bar Association. He will serve a one-year term, beginning July 1, 2007. Gene has served in other positions with the North Carolina Bar Association, including Vice Chair of the Bankruptcy Section (2006-2007), Treasurer of the Section (1993-1995) and Middle District Delegate (1996-1999). Gene is board certified in business bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification, and he is certified by the North Carolina State Bar as a specialist in business bankruptcy law. He joined the Firm in 1983, and his practice is concentrated in commercial bankruptcy and insolvency, creditors' rights, workouts, and state court insolvency proceedings. He received his B.A. from Southern College in 1972, and received his J.D., cum laude, from Campbell University School of Law in 1983.
