Peter has been a litigator with the firm's Winston-Salem office since 1986. He handles all manner of civil litigation, both trial and appellate. He has especially extensive experience in several areas: Intellectual Property Litigation, including Patent, Copyright, and Trade Dress litigation in Federal Courts; Construction Law, including lien claims and arbitrations; and Employment Law, especially relating to the enforcement of covenants against competition. He is actively involved in the firm's Intellectual Property Section, along with Brian Herndon and Mary Margaret Ogburn. In addition to his litigation practice, Peter is also certified by the Dispute Resolution Commission to conduct Superior Court Mediated Settlement Conferences. As a mediator, he focuses in the areas of commercial, real estate, corporate, and intellectual property disputes.

Peter is a member of the Forsyth County and North Carolina Bar Associations. He has been a speaker on issues related to his practice, including a presentation at a CLE course on "Complex Construction Law Issues," sponsored by National Business Institute, as well as Lunch and Learn presentations on Intellectual Property. He serves on the Board of Directors of Leadership Winston-Salem.

Peter is married with three girls, including surprise twins. He is active with Twin City Stage (formerly the Little Theatre of Winston-Salem), where he is Past President and a member of the Board of Directors. He is on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County and Leadership Winston-Salem. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Piedmont Chamber Singers. He is active at Maple Springs United Methodist Church, where he is on the Board of Trustees and is the Director of the Cherub Choir (3 and 4 year olds).
